WEINIG and its partners launched a pay-as-you-go service.

The "Woodworking as a Service" business model launched by Weinig Group promises to provide greater flexibility and access to the latest technology in response to market and economic fluctuations. The plan will be implemented in the next two years.

The company said that in the future, the plan will enable customers to pay for the machine based on actual usage. This means that the machine will not be purchased once for a specific amount, but the customer will receive a machine whose utilization rate will be invoiced regularly.

With the support of the "InvestBW" funding program of Baden-Württemberg, Weinig Group has received approval for the funding of the new program. The program provides funding for companies located in Baden-Württemberg for technology research and development projects for novel, data-based business models and services.

In this sponsored project, Weinig will cooperate with Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA), Roth Steuerungstechnik and Hogra-Holz.

Feraunhofer IPA from Stuttgart will support the alliance with the latest equipment technologies and methods and expertise in business modeling.

Roth Steuerungstechnik from Billigheim is a software expert in the team and an important partner in the development of service technology applications. Jochen Ganz, head of Weinig's new business and innovation department, said that Weinig is working with Limbach's Hogra-Holz as a pilot customer. According to Ganz, “Their participation will ensure that the development of the business model will be close to the needs of the customer and will integrate the customer’s perspective from the beginning.”
